THE BUILDING
It was a post office until 1974.
Then a school store, then empty for nineteen years. We kept the deodar counter, the iron window frames and the floor, and replaced almost everything else. The stove is new. The draught is original.
GETTING HERE
The climb.
Thirty-five kilometres and about ninety minutes from Dehradun, longer in monsoon. The last kilometre is walkable and worth walking.
